I have lurked a bit off N on. But now Im asking...
Is it possible to have a save game feature for multiplayers. Therefore, When the players meet again on the net they can start from where they stopped off at? Also, Some type of auto save incase of crashes would be cool.
I get into some networked games with the same people all the time and it would be nice to be able to save games and pick up where you left off.
Just asking,,,,

Historical note: This was the source of the BIGGEST controversy on Pumpkin's BB's for the Retail WZ. It was a hugely popular suggestion and Pumpkin was absolutely adamant about NOT doing it. Which is saying something as they were amiably open to all other suggestions-ideas. They actually went so far as deleting the huge thread advocating it.

Their core assets were already committed to the next game (specifically "Firestorm" which was their code name for the new game engine). For 2100 they were willing to do what did not involve a major allocation of those assets. That's it in a nut-shell - commercial considerations.macuser wrote:why were they against it?
