Reveal Map Option

Post by AndrewJP »

If anyone has ever played Age of Empires there is a "Reveal Map" option. You can turn it on or off in the game settings. What this does is it allows you to see the entire map as if you explored it all. But, you can not see your enemies. Just the map as if you explored it. I think this would be a nice addon to the game.

Just to add the same rules would apply were as you cant see the enemy or his structures in real time. Only what you have already explored. The only difference in having "Reveal Map" on would make is there would be no dark unexplored areas on the map.

Shouldn't be too hard to fix this.

Fortunatelly we can enlarge the map.. :)

I cant play now to check if it was removed but i have a question..

Some time ago when i played this situation happened to me few times..

When I enlargened the map, for example very big map 250 x 250 to maximum in minimap, it is so big that it goes beyond the research facilities window for example, and if I select what to research in research facility number 5 and press what to research in it, and at the same time some of my units are selected.. all those units go to this selected place on map, which I have accidentally pressed when I selected the 5th research thing to research..

I hope you understand what I mean, if no i will try to explain it better..

And I know I dont have to enlarge the map completely, but soetimes it is crutial..

The map goes beyond research or factory window in bottom centre, when i press the right features of the select window, units go to the place on the map..

It should be fixed I think.. is it fixed ?? Do you understand what I mean ??

I do (:
Yeah, minimap overlaps other widgets when zoomed in too much. Good point (:

I've recently noticed that the mini-map overlaps the power bar by default in 640x480 resolution.
This is why some features aren't implemented: http://forums.wz2100.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=7490&view=unread#p87241
