you havent installed the new warzone GPL into the original pumpkin folders have you??
the same goes for the editor... both should be installed into their own folders. not installed in one folder.
if that isnt the problem - then the only thing i can think of is the drivers for dx and your graphics card...
you have an nvidia card, maybe? if so, now that i remember - i had the same error - i got rid of the error by going back to a previous install of the nvidia drivers...

You mean the default warzone directory? I did install warzone here
D:\Program Files\Warzone 2100
and the editor here
D:\Program Files\WarZone 2100 World Editor 32 bit -128 by128 -png Beta
so i think you're right with the drivers.

Re: WarZone 2100 World Editor 32 bit -128 by128 -png Beta Crash on Startup
Sorry to bump this old thread, but I though it'd be better to post my question here rather than start a new almost identical thread.
I've got a crash problem with the editor as well, but mine is different. Whenever I try to run the editor it gives me the following error: "This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" I tried reinstalling the editor numerous times, I did extract the required dll-s to windows/system32 folder but to no avail. Anybody has any idea what could be wrong? (I seriously doubt that my nVidia card could cause problems; but even so I can't backtrack to an older driver since my old card gave up on me last week and I have a brand new gfx card).

make sure you have installed in the windows - system32 -dllcache - i believe...
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
