Some updates on the hi-poly.
As always, if anyone has ideas/suggestions/crits, they're all welcome. :)

There's really not much left to do about it. Just add some segmentation to the track guards and you're done. Good job as always.

just an idea, but...
would it look cooler if you added some indentation or something to the top part? it looks kinda strange being so perfectly smooth. maybe it could look cool with some kind of armored vent or something? its not actually necessary, but it might turn out cool.
PS: love the suspension + track shape , its a crime that we can't play the game with high poly models!

Forgot to say, heavy track is exactly 90 tris (180 for both). Texture is 512x512 atm, will resize later.
I thought I would post a preview shot of what the new ingame tanks will be like, just for your viewing pleasure
I only use the ao maps since the tracks and turret don't have real textures yet.
These are the actual unshaded lowpoly models, so wysiwyg.

Your low polygon models need to make it into Warzone 2100 as an official graphical overhaul. I don't know if it is an option, but perhaps the developers could make an option under the video/graphics section that turn on your new designs as a "high quality" feature, but users have the option to turn them off and use the original designs if necessary (for old computers).

I noticed that. I am not blind. But I do believe that once we can get them textured, we should implement them in-game. Whatever it takes to get a working modification of the current models.

Good idea but i guess there were a problem with the engine. But if it is possible, i would agree.

There's no problem with the engine. O_o The problem is that we get a bunch of model submissions but no one ever textures them. on average, we get far more model submissions than textures for those models.

That, and, at the sizes you see these things in Warzone, you really can't see much of a difference between these new ones and the old ones. To be honest, the difference between high-resolution models/textures and low-resolution ones is relatively slight.

i will add that though the above speaks to the state of affairs as i understand it as well, there is something about Olrox's texture art that shines through in a very pleasingway to the eye even at the scale the game is mostly played. if drive mode is ever fully developed to be useful in battle this fact of Olrox's texture work will be even more appreciable.

for every hundred 3d artists that can make fine geometry there may be just 1 who can make excellent textures. its been that way forever it seems. creating good geometry is fun and relatively fast work. creating quality textures can be a pita and is anything but fast work and has a lot in common with the 7 layer oil painting of masters like Rembrandt, imho.

EDIT: These are only of the body, I hope Jorzi doesn't mind me posting these.
Also, I didn't adjust the connectors.
These should be viewed at full size:

EDIT2:
I've included some more zoom levels for a fair comparison:
