Separate Design sections?

Post by DarkKnight »

This has been getting on my nerves a bit...
I spend a lot of time playing the game and designing ground units, and then when I have VTOL technology enter the scene, I wind up with an even more massive array of units, all in one design screen...

I was hoping that ground units and air units could occupy different tabs (or something similar in layout aspect) in the unit design screens.

I'm a little a***-retentive about organization...

I propose this: Vtol propulsion design's background will be a different color, such as a green shade.

I think a tabular design section works even better than merely color-coding backgrounds of units. It's much better organized and presented.

Tabs seem to be the way to go, they've been suggested as a solution to other organisational issues too such as research (dividing into vehicle/weapon/structure). If a tabular approach is the key it would be a good idea to work on all of these issues together, with the result being one standard window with tabs used for organising research/unit design and whatever else. Since the defence structure design idea is already in the pipeline, maybe that would be a good time to consider this approach.
