omg, how can you use that program  :'(

lol i cant even make a cube with out spending an hour trying to figure it out.

whats the deal with pck format? maybe i can find a 3d program that can use that for export to pie...

tbh i think i can learn blender about 50 times faster than i could learn pie slicer.

dont get me wrong, i want to but i think its beyond me to learn at a pace that stops me giving up.

looking at the read me, i can see exactly what you mean about it being the perfect program for wz models (like the connectors for weapons e.t.c), is there a decent tutorial around, just to teach me the basics of navigation e.t.c

MUCH appreciated!! it would be a shame for the knowlede to fade from history, and im not sure how many would be able to write one these days..

cheesy quote of the week  ;)

Although I haven't Tried it yet, just from looking at the tutorial lav has created it seems very simple. If you think making a block in pie editor is hard try the 3D Mapping system Hammer for Doom and HL. Everything is a polygon, if its not a box its a triangle! And it all has to be enclosed.

One more thing, as far as overhauling the graphics in WZ, which btw I think were great for their time (and still not too bad today.) What all can we do? Can we modify the engine to handle more polygons, make more complex pie models, make texture resolutions larger? What else? Thats alot to do in itself. The new tile sets you are working on would go great in an overhaul but I have no clue what could be done. Can someone explain what resurrection plans to do?

I've seen some of the things being done in 3ds and I agree with you Grim. Pie editor, not that the other models didn't look great but because I think we're asking too much and trying to create a whole new game. Keep in mind that while we are talking overhaul, were also talking about making as few (which will be many of course) modifications to the code as possible. Am I right? I think that we need to expect less of the game and work on improving not re-creating. In my opinion you are being realistic grim as I know a few other people are but I just don't see some of the model aspects coming together correctly. I think that we need to improve what warzone already has, of course adding a few features here and there, but focus on spending the time to work with what we have rather than trying to start from scratch. We have the pie editor and we have the ability to create new maps, new textures, new units, new structures... so work with it rather than trying to bring more new things into warzone that it was never originally meant to have.

Its hard to explain, does anyone understand what I'm talking about?

im inclined to agree, if too much is done then its no longer the warzone we know and love...
all that needs doing is fixing the bugs and limitations put in by the pumpkin teams lack of polish, replacement FMV's because campaign plot is important to bring new players into the game and to generally feel like we have a 'whole' game), net code needs fixing along with AI and general pathing issues and better suport for mods..

as for future prrofing i suggest we make it possible to run ideas like http://wz2100.net/forum/http://localhos ... 6557#p6557

just my tuppence worth

So much learning... now I haven't gotten a chance to read (skim) through all of the pie documentation, at least until I set a target of what I'm aiming for, then I'll look up how to do it. But I've just extracted the files from the .wz and wanted to open up a structure in pie slicer but I get the error when I try to load one of the models or structures that the pie format is invalid. Any suggestions?

What exactly do I do Grim? I opned the pie file itself using notepad, changed the only extension I saw after texture from .png to .pcx and tried to load it but same error. :( Do I have to change the resolution size or anything else? I'm still missing something here...
