A few weeks forward

Okay, I am a few weeks forward and gone through the campaign. I don't play on the internet as I have a limit to my broadband, so I play against the comp. I have a few questions
1 - Despite taking over oil wells and creating more energy the production and building projects are very slow
2 - The skirmishes always end up in failure even on easy. I have to have an exception to this. When I play against one enemy on easy I win, take it further and I might as well not bother. The other side seem to build more things than I do and are more advanced. I don't mind the advanced, but as in 1 I cannot build enough to maintain a fighting force. I follow all the advice of research, research and more research. But, research just takes more energy that I cannot afford to loose. I am trounced every time. I love the game and am addicted to it, but I can see I will get bored with it if I don't have a chance.
Yes, as I said I read all your help and advice and followed them. If I was playing against a human opponent I would say it is more evenly matched. Playing against the comp is definitely not. I don't mind a challenge, but there is no way I could maintain the skirmish section.
