Game Not Running

Downloaded new release 2.3.2 installed on my Gateway NV59 Laptop, Windows 7. ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics(driver updated, checked and verified)
First Problem - desktop icon was blank icon - fixed that by restarting
Second Problem - Click icon to start game only get black screen. No mouse pointer and it won't let me back to the desktop. The only way to get back control is pull the plug or press the power button to force a shutdown.
Not sure what is causing this, I'm pretty sure it's not my laptop because 2.3.1 worked. Any help would be appreciated.

Never Mind. Problem fixed. Uninstalled everything, cleaned registry, restarted laptop. Reinstalled game. Now it works.
No idea why. By everything I include OpenAL.

Uninstall the game you mean, or the video drivers as well ?

Almost all the time, this is video driver related, and it sounds like the issue was that the drivers didn't install correctly ?

Uninstalled the whole game, including OpenAL. For some reason it took both this time. I usually uninstall OpenAL every upgrade. I have less problems afterward. I wasn't sure what was going to work. But this did
