first let me say, if my creating this topic bugs any mods in here feel free to merge it with the appropriate topic from the 2nd post (couldnt find an appropriate topic that still seemed active, prolly cos im wired and its 3am).
//GiGaBaNE: If you wish to make reccomendations for the game please try use one post per person for it and edit new ideas into it, makes life a lot easier for developers, coloring your suggestions may be good too. =)
//Lav: stickied - so as not to loose the wishes as per watermelon.
//Kamaze: Removed the contact info and shortened the title a bit. (We can see your email anyways )

Warzone 2100 is one of the greatest RTS games i've ever played. It's inconvinences, unpopularity, and poor graphics though, are driving many potential players away. I'd like to see the following stuff implemented:
- Different 'skies' for every map type.
- Night and Day
- Better looking 'rain', and snow
- Thunder and Lightning in rainy maps
- Faster falling rain, that makes splashing sounds.
- Reflections of units on, or near water
- Moving water. (ripples, waves, and such)
- You can see wheels, tracks, etc move while the unit is going.
- Hovercraft fan spins
- More rounded turrets, and bodies. (less sharp corners)
- More rounded transports (regular, and cyborg)
- Larger cyborg transports
- Cyborg Transports whose weapon systems you control (currently, they only fire automatically)
- Option of 'Lobby Server' and 'Find IP' after you click 'Internet' (instead of leaving ip blank, and clicking check)
- Better looking laser fire for laser weapons
- Stronger sound for laser based weapons. (current sound sounds sissy.)
- Rotary weapons actually rotate after each fire (such as Hellstorm, Pepperpot, and Assault Gun)
- More sound variety for missle based weapons (all missles sound similar)
- Organizeable Designs section.
- Design limit increased.
- Weapons aren't replaced in the design section (for instance, machine gun is replaced by Assault Gun)
- Cyborg, and Scavenger renders should be COMPLETELY redone. (they look like walking boxes)
and last but not least
- Access to Scavenger bodies in DEBUG mode.
Are any of these possible to implement in future releases?
edit: put here in the wish list... lav_coyote25

anytime in the near future?? no
simply put.. theres alot of others "annoyances" like pathfinding and other mugs in the scripting that need to truly be smoothed out before the dev team can focus entirely on the graphical nature of the game.
and the only "easy" way to totally improve the graphics is to move it to a more stable and recent gaming engine... then employ a modeling and graphics team to the new engine while the coders work in transfering the code from the old engine to the new one..
yes.. even the easy way composes of ALOT of work... time and money..
all the more reason more people wiht the know how and the skills willign to help out and devote thier time to the project is needed.. more heads mean things move along a bit faster.

Yeah.
Pathfinding in this game is pretty crappy.
my units go around in circles alot.
especially my VTOLS.
Heh, I wish I could help with the more technical stuff.
Only thing i've ever really done is 3D modelling.
took a class last year.

what maps are you playing ? for the vtol circling... also which vtol body are you using.

"to prepare for disaster is to invite it, to not prepare for disaster is a fools choice" -me (kim-lav_coyote25-metcalfe) - it used to be attributed to unknown - but adding the last bit , it now makes sense.
the above wish lists were moved here so they are all in one place.

* A decent Multiplayer Save/Load system for those of us that enjoy playing looooonnng games with our friends
(It's been lacking in that respect since WZ originally came out in '99)
they circle around after they reach their destination
(eg: i tell them to get back to base, and when htey get there, they circle around the general area of the place i clicked, until i press S to stop them.)
and, its usually light vtol bodies Bug and Leopard.
Being able to personalize your base more
- When building structures, you are given the option of which way to turn them to. (doesnt leave behind seams in tiles)
- In Multiplayer, you may choose a new option of Faction Battle or something.
Where you'll be able to choose between the existing factions of The Project, The New Paradigm, The Collective, NEXUS, or possibly the Scavengers.
- Along with that, being able to build structures applicable only to them (such as dark gray collective walls, and black NEXUS walls, and hardpoints. And the different kinds of Command Centers.
- With Faction Battle, you may be able to start off with the light body for your faction as your default truck. and, in T1, you start with your faction's body.
Somehow implementing a totally new, more user friendly way to edit, and create new maps.
- It's included on the Main Menu of Warzone2100 as Map Editor or something.
- Interface very similar to that of the game. Similar viewing, camera angles, zooming, etc.
- easy terrain leveling at the tip of your fingers (like in DEBUG mode)
- A little toolbar at the bottom. eg: you click on Tiles, and a list of tiles comes up on the left, you select each, and just click on the highlighted zone, and it appears. You dont have to re-select it each time you place a tile
- All maps you make, and save will automatically be availible for use in Skirmishes, and Host Games. Whoever joins the game, is prompted to download the map for the game, and then he or she may join.
- Better looking render. Preferably 3D, of the map you look at, before you choose to play it.

i like the idea, but unless you tweak the bodies a lot, or expand and restructure the tech tree, whoever gets stuck with new paradigm probably loses, and later on, whoever is nexus probably wins, unless collective makes an early push.
i agree in principle to the wiki, but i think the wish list needs to mature a little first, then we can create an abridged version as a wiki, otherwise i suspect it may become as messy as forum topics
