who said it needed to be land bound?? my original idea was for a AERIAL platform like a hovercraft., that would come up when you researched vtol propulsion. it would have multiple rearming pads as well as AAguns and AT rockets for defense

I don't think flying bases would suite this game...

NO! Warzone 2100 is NOT Sky Captain and the world of Tomorrow! No flying base structures or the USS Macon!

Warzone tries to be somewhat realistic. Flying fortresses are kind of the antithesis of that.

Alright, it's a flying structure, made capable of flight with VTOL technology perhaps.

I am confused by your smilies, so are you aware that currently you can't make a mod with flying forts or aircraft carriers?

Actually, flying fortresses are possible.

There have been incidents of actual flying fortresses (Sort of). During WWII, the US Navy had a blimp program, and the blimps were capable of launching and retrieving specially fitted aircraft. If we wanted to, we could probably make an flying base, though it would be fairly small, and not at all worth the money. Still, if I were developing tech in WZ2100, I would use the Transport as a basis for a flying VTOL repair and resupply unit.

How would you get a floating aircraft carrier that wouldn't ruin your economy? Make it out of solar power and a bunch of turbines, it would make more sense for the world. A giant behemoth powered by nothing but sun, running on helicopter blades.

Ducted fans might be better. Or you could use gigantic lift chambers full of helium...
