Crash issue

I am a fan of this game and recently downloaded it for my pc (had the playstation version for the past 8 years) and every time i try to load it up using the icon on my desktop, it goes to loading screen then crashes. I end up back on my desktop. I can open the warzone.exe on its own and it opens up the older version of the game, but i cant start second campaign because i try to load first map and that crashes and goes back to desktop too. N boxes come up and tell me what happened, it all just closes. I use an AMD athlon 64 4000+ processer and Nvidia 6800 ultra graphics card with windows XP as my op system. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
