I would rather have it accept the click on the right thing.

I had totally forgotten about that. Thanks for pointing that out to me. :)

mrvn wrote:Then the user is stupid. Sorry but it is true. When a research finishes you get a message. I think you even get a different message when a finished research adds new research options. So you know the exact time when a new option is/can be added. So the eager user only need to refresh the list once per finished research.

This is not entirely true. If any of my 15 actively building trucks finishes one or more construction projects while any of my 15 actively producing factories produces a unit, then Warzone will play the related sounds in a queue, in the order that the events completed. So if I produced 15 units nearly simultaneously, and completed building 15 structures at nearly the same time, followed by completing research on just one technology, I would not hear the "Research Completed" audio until nearly 30 seconds after the research actually completed. You can never rely on game audio as a reliable time stamp.
My game handle is Cosmic Raven or Cosmic Raven 68

What I was going for is that you wouldn't be sitting there clicking to refresh the research menu every second.

Point taken. Agreed.

If we had good gui code, I'd say add a second box to the right where new research topics are added at the end, so no icon suddenly moves.

Actually, that was in my plans for the research queue patch. It would've rewrote quite a bit of GUI code.
