Should you find that when you attempt to join an MP that Warzone crashes (i.e., hangs up) then it is because the host is behind a router (or other NAT device).

In order to solve this problem the host must set their router up to forward port 9999 to the IP address of the computer hosting the game. In order to do this you normally need to login to your router and look for port forwarding. For more information please either consult your router documentation or take a look at the following articles:

Im on a router.. Required because it's a wireless connection in the house... But all WEP and other security is turned of because of its limited range... Invasion isn't a concern...
With all securities off would I still need to modify my router to get any games to come through?

Yes, since this is not a security related problem. If you use NAT (simply put, all computers accessing the inet through that router use the same public IP) then this problem applies, as does this solution.

is there any way to use different ports atm? or any way of checking via a web site if the ports are open?

//edit: no matter, ppl have sucessfuly joined my 'unattendedtest' game on line, i just havnt found a game i can join yet

Not unless your willing to change the code.

Try finding a website that provides a "portscanner" service.

That's how I started! By having a motivation that's larger than my skills. Eventually your skills will catch up, but your motivation will never catch up to your skills if that would be the problem.

I have a dsl modem/router from quest and I can't get a single ip address to go threw or recieve.... It is driving me insane... I can't host or join w/ ver: 2.0.7. I love warzone and have been playing it since it came out!!!! I have tried all theses links that you posted and nothing seems to work....

I just need a little help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah i have a slight bigger problem i can't even host a skirmish game. also ive never been able to find a match. so can i have some help here so i can join in the fun?

version 2.1.3 i believe (the newest non beta version)

A) not a good idea to revive a ~2 year old topic.
B) why can't you host a skirmish game? Just select map, then click the 'start hosting' button, then click the 'ready' checkbox on the right side.

I need to see the stderr.txt & crash log (*.rpt file) to know what is going on.
