Just got a massive boost of power?!

Hey all. I'm new here-- I've been a massive fan of WZ since it was released on the PS1, and only just found out it was free on PC. I've since been working away at the campaign but something strange happened this morning and just wanted to see if anyone could help explain what happened.

Basically I was on Campaign 2 Beta 6 and had around 1,000 power. I was trying to keep it around that figure while researching and building tanks. Then all of the sudden, I noticed I had 98,000. Next mission, I still have tons of power and it's kind of ruined the campaign a little. Is this a bug or it supposed to happen on that mission?

Any help would be appreciated.

To be exact, there's more than one bug that causes a jump to max power. I fixed one of them, but the other one's been broken since 2.1.x or so, and we still have no idea what causes it, and so it hasn't been fixed.

Fair enough. It's certainly made the second half of campaign two easier. I assume power is reset at the start of campaign 3?

It happened to me too, first time on the Beta 2, and second time on the Gamma 2.

But there is ANOTHER bug this way:
On Gamma 1st mission, after completing last Beta, i got 16 000 power (I am always playing on normal difficulty), but when i saved right after the Gamma 1st mission started and turned off the game, i got 0 power when loaded the game later.
To get my power back, I needed to load the last Beta mission, complete it and then advance to gamma in one session. I mean - without turning off the game.
I was using v2.3.0 all the time.

Umm, anyone understand what i mean ?

If there was "Power transferred" message and it was 5000 then it was not a bug.

Yes, I can confirm this bug. I've checked using my recent savegame from campaign (I'm always saving at least after each mission) and power level was 0. However when I've played it last (first ) time, as you said, in one "session", then it was for sure 16000 (it's easy to remember, you can build during first five critical minutes or not )...

Don't use that host, that host blows chunks. Use trac, like Emdek did.

For your issue, I don't see anything wrong, are you using 2.3.1a ?

Emdek, I need a savegame before the condition happens, your savegame shows 0, and I don't know what it should have been.

I've added older one, but you will need to go through whole evacuation stage and for example save it just before start of the last transport and then again after end of the mission (both savegames were done that way).

When I load my game, i have at the beginning around 18k power and then after 2 or 3 seconds i get 50k boost and i have 68k (as you can see on screenshot, too). I did some tricks with cheats so i had around 18k againg after 15 min or so and there was no timer on the next mission so this is ok.

About version, i have version without a, but as far as i know "a" version was not done for the reason of new power calculation but for other reasons. Am i wrong?

about host I couldn't upload on forum as attachment was bigger than 100kb...
