Now i'm not thinking specialized as in tank killer or cyborg eater here, i mean more things like transports, radars etc, Maybe units with a "siege mode" capability? like star crafts siege tanks? or deployable like the outposts of c&c?
I've aways been one to set up outposts rather then a few turrets in a random spot ~which if given maybe a cyborg factory could be a small outpost~ and large maps make this alot more fun, but even on small maps a temporary, cheaper radar tower would be nice, or maybe a mobile cyborg factory for a temporary outpost?
had a base destroyed? send a reclaimer team to set up within its walls until its safe to send over some trucks or maybe don't even bother sending trucks and be semi nomadic moving around the map so people wont know where your base is ^_^
just an idea

Re: Specialized units
Cheap mobile radar tower? Like, in "Viper Wheels Sensor"? A "nomadic base" (What you describe is nomadic. Semi-nomadic in cultural sciences describes a way of life where people move between a defined summer and winter residence.) sounds like an interesting concept on first glance, but it meets a major logical drawback in that resources in WZ are rather stationary. If we had resources that must be harvested and then hauled to a drop-off point like the minerals and gas in SC or Tiberium in C&C this would be a different matter. Further, by which means should the base structures become mobile? Imagining a T3 factory with hundreds of little legs is an amusing thought but certainly not more. And lift-off capability like some terran structures in SC have would seem unbelievable in WZ plus, the structures don't look like it.
If you're going for temporary defensive structures, maybe my proposal about entrenchments (Entrenchments for temporary defense) meets your requirements.

Re: Specialized units
seen that thread and commented on it, and yeah sorta, but deployable for higher hit points / radius at the cost of mobility.
and true, base structures i figured more like specialized bodies, like the concept of mobile VTOL pads, you wouldn't exactly slap a vtol pad on a bug wheels would you?
