Yes, It's hollow on the original, but I still agree with corporal punishment that since this is a radar and not a reciever dish, it should look more like a directional transmitter antenna (like in the concept art on page 10).
What do you think? It still doesn't deviate too much from the original, does it?

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
reminds me of the ancient anti boat mirror towers, using the power of the sun to burn masts and sails ^_^ but definitely an improvement over the original radar ^_^

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
BTW i'd like to try texturing your models (since olrox is not here) If you could start by sending the radar model (*.obj) and it's uv-map image (*.png) along with the original uv-map image (from the game) anf i'll try to create one for your model based on the old one (using tcmask too)

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
Unfortunately I haven't UV-mapped the radar yet, but I have some ready models here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/artrev2100/files/
The zip files contain the model in .3ds format as well as the texture maps

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
Thnx, however I would like to see the original uv-map for reference. Do you know where I could get it?

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
Having it in a convex shape than a concave shape would have seemed a little more creative. Concave shapped antennas are a common thing in my opinion. Convex shape would make the radar stand out. That's just my opinion, but it's still your model, and if you feel that the final draft looks good, then it's good. I like it either way, good work Jorzi.Jorzi wrote:Yes, It's hollow on the original, but I still agree with corporal punishment that since this is a radar and not a reciever dish, it should look more like a directional transmitter antenna (like in the concept art on page 10).

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
If the final sensor model is to have a concave dish again, there should be a horn antenna in the focus, if that doesn't mean too many tri's. Like this, maybe:
