The Project does too have a symbol. It's the atomic thing that looks like this:

It's the center button in the interface, and it's what you see during Briefing Commences.

Duh me... :lol2:

The atomic nucleus, honestly never made that connection.

The factions abstracted symbols I didn't recall (from the Retail Play Guide ?) .... just the ones from the WZ Comic, like the Collective below. That process of abstracting from the more representational is fascinating to me.

Maybe Warzone2100 Symbols or something
I like the idea of having the factions logo in the centre of the landing pads maybe replace the H, I only used that because thats the default pad (yes I admit it I copy and pasted it).
It should be doable in the respect we have old team colour system could be used to place the Icon on the pads centre.

wow!! awesome. tweaks here and there and i think we have a winner. just remember that the more details you put in may compromise fps ( or am i wrong?). anyways. keep going berg and the other artists. :3 :3 :3

That I don't know an images is an image whats in it might not effect frame rate the size of it might anyway Im glad you like it note shadows are turned off in the game options for that pic but lets hope that the back facing poly get the shadows fixed so they dont show.
If can get consensus on what should be in the centre of the pad would be nice possibilities are endless.

i dont use shadows... they slow my machine down... not rich enuff for a new one yet... :3 :lol2:

There are also 2 other symbols that I recall from the videos. Too lazy right now to play all the vids to find them.

(LTR: Project, New Paradigm, Collective, Nexus)

The monochrome makes it a lot easier to recognize the New Paradigm's logo as a "New World Order" type thing. And the Collective always had a "Communist" feel.

Every time I come back to this thread I see something better from you. Keep up the good work. What did you think about having the pads as four slightly raised octagonal slabs over the platform?

P.S: I think that the work on the emblems should go on a another thread, just my opinion. Oh, and how would those pads with symbols fit into MP?

Well there is many ways to do that and could keep that option open as animation might get fixed to work correctly flashy light conveyor belts leaky pipes ooo the mind boggles. I don't know that adding extra would enhance the pad with raised raised platforms. I dont know what i think to be honest.
More suggestions is always acceptable ...What to put in the centre of pad that is on my mind H doesn't cut it as the pad is fo V vtol sorry im rembling off a bit thinking.

Oh, I didn't mean animated slabs rising up from the platform, I meant fixed permanent slabs, just in case I wasn't clear..

Perhaps these Faction emblem post should be split off as Berg suggested early-on.

As for MP...

Think about it... When you are playing MP, is everybody the Project fighting against each other ?

What is sorta happening is that in everyone's mind THEY are the Project Forces and those they are fighting against are one of the Factions. Imagination, it's a wonderful thing. :)

What we have here is the beginnings of something - the option to choose a Faction to play as with the simple selection of a symbol. Not the same, by any means, as distinct Faction Mechanics but it is a step in that direction. Ultimately what will happen, I think, is that the popularity will split into 2: some will be committed to playing The Project and the other camp will savor playing the role of Nexus. We already have a Nexus only game play mechanic: the Intruder Virus.... something to expand on, counter measure wise, for the Project.... then you'd have the start of distinct Faction play mechanics
