Selectable speeds.

Post by Verin »

Ever had the problem of your sensor turrets passing the main force on a needless suicide? :(

Has your commander passed it units, only to have it, and the experience, lost? :augh:

I think that having the ability to select the unit speed would be a good idea. manually slow down the light support vehicle so they don't gt destroyed. I have 2 ways to solve this.

Percentages- indicate in the menu if you want the unit to travel at 50-70-or 100%

More complex- Have the units follow the main ones, but not pass. I am not sure how this would work, but I think you get the idea.

No negative comments please, this is an idea. If you don't like it do not post. :3

Yes, this is very troublesome. I agree with you that this issue needs to be resolved. Some sort of group formation policies are in order.

You got to take the good with the bad, bro. It helps you to restructure your ideas into more implementable ones. :)

IMO, i feel this is more complicated, and will turn into an annoying little micro-management.

I'm not sure about the level of complication in this case, but a little mutation of this idea could be the possible solution.

You can do it now, not in the way you suggested, but it's more complex and demands your attention. And I like that, it makes it more challenging. For example you have 4 tanks and a repair turret in a group with a commander turret. When you move the group in, individually move the tanks units infront of the repair turret and the commander turret to deal and take the majority of damage (re-assign obviously). Another way to solve the problem would be to make the commander turret have a heavy body and slow propulsion in comparison to the tank units.

Sounds good, should try it, thanks for the tip.

I wonder if this should go somewhere in the guide as a strategy tip... :hmm:
Me thinks you're going to hear about this complain over and over again...

Psst, Per, didn't you say there were no possible objections to turning off formation speed limiting?
