Re: how do you go in to driveing mode
Was it so hard to say?
You enter Debug mode using Shift+Backspace, then you select the unit you want to drive, press Space, then press Shift+D, and drive!

It's great that you're taking the time to answer in detail. But wouldn't it be better if this were added to the Guide for all future references? Like maybe in Keyboard Shortcuts under the View section? Or wherever appropriate.
You could just point them to the entry in the guide if somebody else were to ask this same question again..

It's a cheat and an experimental feature. I'll add it to the Cheats page, but definitely not to Keyboard Shortcuts.j0shdrunk0nwar wrote:It's great that you're taking the time to answer in detail. .
ALSO: So far as I have tested the latest release - which is not a bunch yet, I will admit - Drive Mode breaks the normal camera controls when you get out of it such that you have quit & restart the game to get normal camera functions back. I'll have to test more when I get a respite from RL work stuff.

I only found out about driving mode a week or something ago. It's pretty cool.

Ok, that's still the case far as I can tell. (Maybe reiteration will make it cognizable... probably not.)Rman Virgil wrote:.

"Pilot-Battle" Mode in the PSX1 version of WZ 2100 was the bomb.... "Drive Mode" at this point of its PC dev is not even in the same ballpark. That it is also now breaking normal camera controls makes it even more worthless to any game play if that's possible (this being true of postings with merit but without a title attached to them).

Re: how do you go in to driving mode
I think the main problem was the control scheme, since the keymap is already full. I guess implementing pure gamepad control wouldn't be that difficult, but then you'd need a gamepad for driving mode.

Is it possible to separate the 2 functions entirely: KeyMapping for Drive Mode...... Mouse for Normal Camera control ?cybersphinx wrote:I think the main problem was the control scheme, since the keymap is already full. Re: how do you go in to driving mode
The modifier keys are always free. Perhaps we could start using those?
First step is probably to free up Shift+D. There's really no reason at all why Drive Mode and Tracking Mode should be separate - Space should trigger both at the same time.
