Future Feature Problems - Bridge

Ideas and suggestions for how to improve the Warzone 2100 base game only. Ideas for mods go in Mapping/Modding instead. Read sticky posts first!

People, this topic is partialy for ideas,suggestions and probavly solving future problems about brigdes! :idea:

So people,when we say word brigde then we say "Its not posible to make a true model of brigde with option that units can be on brigde and moving trought the brigde without teleportation to other part in one second" or "Warzone engine dosent support 3D objects on 3D object,except for oil resource places, even if they could do that then the problems would be would gane crash or units get stuck and how to make posible to make some movement on terrain & 3D model of the brigde" and etc... :twisted:

Main problems?
- how to make units move on the brigde by not going on terrain and they dont move trought brigde like it isnt there :cry:
- Units would probavly always be on terrain,theres almost no way of making 3D units moving on 3D object :x
- They would need to find a way,if they do then some vtols and cyborg transporter could land on building and put units on buildings 8)
roof and when building gets destroyed,we probavly wont know ultil we made that posibility and test it! :3
- The engine is old and we dont have proper tools except coding,only edios interactive have the tools probavly in archive but they dont support modders fully,when devs contact them,they responded 5 years later! :annoyed:

Secondary problems?
- Would units could pass bellow the brigde and dont cause crashers of the game or even corrupted files :evil:
- How much impact will have on warzone theme and style of gameplay and strategy :geek:
- What would be proper health points for featured brigde and could we repair the brigde even if is not our and could we build it
what impact will have on w2100 gameplay? :hmm:
- If we allow player to build own brigde,it cold destroy MP gameplay of W2100 except if there is proper places to build a brigde s
On sites that there could be brigdes or where brigdes were after they got destroyed
- What types of brigdes we could build,small?normal?huge?Or just one type of brigde,on places where could be brigdes or there
were brigdes!?! :ninja:

Advantages?
- Gameplay will have an evolution in W2100 strategy & tactics moves :idea:
- No more maps with one part of terrain that we call "Brigde" :lecture:
- There are too many of advantages... :D
Dis-advantage?
- Posible crashes or the game :stare:
- Problems with AI pathfinding :stressed:
- Not having option to build defenses on brigde :augh:
- Posible problem to put objects on the brigde
- High risk of glitches and bugs :?

I dont see anybody that would comment?Why you all people that are read this topic dint say something?
I created this topic where there should be suggestions for the brigdes and what problems we would occure in the future...
Also it would be nice if somebody makes drawing how should look brigdes in W2100 and how it would fit in W2100 theme!

I think the problem is that you opened up too many issues on a single post. Maybe you should discuss one issue at a time. However i will start a comment for your post :)

Cyborgs and units are able to walk on top of VTOL Pads, isn't that one 3D object walking over another object? '(VTOL pads are 2D, right?)

I was thinking that it would be complicated for pathfinding to AI and iam now confused...its hard to explain when english is not my mothertoung/Nacional/Normal Language

You should be able to build it, but it should be a neutral building.

There have been suggestions about ruined bridge feature, over which you could build a complete bridge.

If devs decide to do that, they will code it. And they will code it well, so it doesn't crashes. :roll:

For example, take gates: in first tries there were huge pathfinding problems, now it is fixed and works great!

I believe we're only planning on having bridges buildable over water, anyway, which renders half of these objections moot.
