When playing, I noticed some of the rockets just hit the ground long after the target is dead (arty rockets). I was wondering if it is possible to have some sort of horizontal firing rockets. Where the rocket would either continue until it hits something or travels a certain distance. It could make for some horrific missile barrages that rip through multiple units. Similarly, I was wondering if that's possible with the rail gun, seeing as that's the sole purpose of the rail gun is to rip through targets-
As for cyborgs, I really thought about it and the most useful cyborgs are either the ones that take in a beating or ones that are specialized tank killers- as a result, I have a suggestion- as a final tier unit for cyborgs, add a Shield Cyborg- one that has a ridiculous amount of health, but the drawback? No weapon. It's only purpose is to redirect fire towards it.
Second cyborg option is the Rail/Laser Sniper (saw it in Zombie Mod) where the cyborg has a much higher range than most conventional weapons and thus the order of assault will become Arty, then Snipers, then Shield, then Tanks- similarly, the rail/laser sniper is the perfect counter to shield cyborgs, but the downside is that they are probably the weakest units in the game.

We already have horizontal-firing rockets: Lancer, Tank Killer, Bunker Buster.

Besides, a sacrifice in a war? Good game tactic, but it shouldn't be made too obvious by giving them a name. Shield cyborg sounds nice though, i think you have something there but it's half-baked in it's current features..
I like this idea, a Cyborg Sniper, only able to take down "cyborgs", in one shot or two.. lying flat on the ground.. long range.. long reload time.. Poor in close combat... Good one DTSX..DTSX wrote:Second cyborg option is the Rail/Laser Sniper (saw it in Zombie Mod) where the cyborg has a much higher range than most conventional weapons and thus the order of assault will become Arty, then Snipers, then Shield, then Tanks- similarly, the rail/laser sniper is the perfect counter to shield cyborgs, but the downside is that they are probably the weakest units in the game.

Re: Special Rocket Type? Horizontal Fire Rockets and Cyborgs
What I meant by horizontal fire is that they hit something, then disappear, but even if the target is dead, they don't hit anything else- I wanted a long range horizontal firing missile launcher, similar to the Missile Launcher systems in Supreme Commander (if anyone played it) It keeps going until hitting a certain range, but anything in the path will get hit automatically.
Also for Sniper, there could be two variants, one that can deal large amount of damage to light-medium vehicles, an Anti-Tank Rifle (high tier) or just a normal sniper that hurts cyborgs mainly. They are very weak and slow, but they pack a hell of a punch. If you support them with the transport, they can can sit on any mountain top and just snipe away.
As for shield cyborgs, a good phalanx of them would be able to a. soak in damage like none other, b. prevent piercing horizontal fire as stated above, and c. block paths
Then the normal sniper could just rip them apart, it would be a very effective counter- and the counter to the sniper is just really any tank in general or for the anti-tank sniper, any cyborg. They're support units, not independent ones.

Re: Special Rocket Type? Horizontal Fire Rockets and Cyborgs
Nice options there DTSX, however I do prefer snipers being able to take down just other cyborgs, maybe more than just one or two shots. The only main advantage would be to give them longer range. The disadvantage could be slower reload time.. What do you think? Am I missing some other factor here?DTSX wrote:Also for Sniper, there could be two variants, one that can deal large amount of damage to light-medium vehicles, an Anti-Tank Rifle (high tier) or just a normal sniper that hurts cyborgs mainly.
