Also, has anyone seen one of those huge satellite dishes spin in real life? They take minutes to complete one rotation. However, I wouldn't want WZ satellites to rotate that slow either

Satellite Uplink Center spin speed too fast?
Satellite Uplink Center rotates way too fast for it's size IMHO. It could feel more realistic if it spun at a more slower speed like that of the Cannon Fortress.

I think it wouldn't be possible without automaticaly slowing down rotation speed of all other radars. Maybe with some changes to the code...j0shdrunk0nwar wrote:Satellite Uplink Center rotates way too fast for it's size IMHO. Those spin so slow because they are tracking something. A satellite to keep connection to it. This one doesn't.
http://guide.wz2100.net/r/satelliteuplinkcenter It needs to spin fast in order to collect all the data.

Point taken. But how about comparing the speed to the size of this sensor, the current speed gives a feeling that the sensor base is very lightweight. I know it's the future and supposed to be advanced technology, but let's talk about realism here
The canon fortress has excellent work done to show how heavy it is. However, if the code isn't worth changing then I guess it's just fine.

Apart from the feasibility of implementing it, are you agreeing that it would look better with a little slower rotation speed?KukY wrote: I think it wouldn't be possible without automaticaly slowing down rotation speed of all other radars. Maybe with some changes to the code...

Well, it really would make it stand out...j0shdrunk0nwar wrote:Apart from the feasibility of implementing it, are you agreeing that it would look better with a little slower rotation speed?

Uplink should track the satellite isnt it? so why does it spin at all?

To keep tracking all satelites and to have whole overview of the map, its radar/satelitecom/weapon/ect at the same time!

Re: Satellite Uplink Center spin speed too fast?
As there is no further explanation on how the Satellite Uplink Center works, only someone in the WZ2100 dev team can tell us if the Satellite Uplink Center was designed as a way of communicating with a satellite in space, or terrestrial. But the word satellite itself means something in the orbit of a planet.
