This is a problem with your video driver and poor OpenGL support. Suggestions:

Turn off Aero or any compositing window manager.

Update to latest manufacturer's latest video driver.

Chip Type: S3-VIA
S3 chipsets are famous for their poor OpenGL support. Good luck!

Well if i can find newer drivers fir S3 then probavly it might work if they updated?
When Warzone 2100 will get DirectX support, plz?Or atleast make in cellshade style textures for the future?

If you dont know whats cell shade then heres the answer:

Cell Shade is an type of texture & graphical. Its uses to make game more like cartoons and takes less graphical memory because of simplistic colours and there are no many varients of colors used in textures. Because of that aproach there are special designed game engines for more better performance in game and faster loading plus quality of frame rates per second. some games that uses that tech, for ex-sample XXX,TMT,Warsow(Freeware FPS game using Q3 engine)...

Old games used similar aproach...So plz do it!

In short: Never. Why? Because it isn't open source.

That Cell Shade of your's; it would only save your GFX card RAM. Performance change would be unoticable.

Updating drivers? Be happy that you can run WZ with that at all...

Well rip, too bad...
Il have no change to play warzone 2100 each time i comes in a visit to my dad.My parents are divorced.
But if Medal Of Honor Allied Assault Warchest(Special Collection MOHAA with both expansion pack) works just fine to me on my laptop: 1.2GHZ Mobile AMD Athlon 1400 plus, S3 VIA Twister 8/16/32MB & 352MB of RAM then why it dosent warzone play with textures? Also why warzone 2100 needs far more sistem requirments then 1.10 version?

As stiv pointed out, the openGL drivers for your S3 are badly done.
Keep playing 1.10.

There is another reason for a black screen when starting warzone. I just had the problem and managed to fix it. The problem was I had a corrupted download from using a download accelerator in firefox(firedownload.) When I downloaded it again without using the accelerator and installed warzone. Game worked fine.

Um, no, that shouldn't be possible.

The installer does a CRC check on all files to prevent this.
and it ends here.

It's done this on the last 4 updates (2.3.1a on.) Not saying your wrong just saying when I downloaded the game using the accelerator and then installed I had a black screen when I tried to start the game. The only way to get out of it was to crash my laptop on purpose. I had to uninstall then download again without using the accelerator. Everthing worked fine after that.

thanks in advance

No, openGL isn't working correctly, disable compiz, then it should work OK.
and it ends here.
