Well there is an simple solution...
Why do you dont make each hud/GUI in other resolution,640x480,...,800x600,...,1024x756,...,etc...
Make for every resolution hud/gui and then try to code it and implement it in the games engine code with that posibility.
I think that is harder to make dinamical hud/gui because the engine is outdated a bit and its hard to code option to dinamical hud.
Dinamical hud started coding in 2002 because of monitors bigger then 1024x768.
It would only use few more megabits or maybe just kilobits if there will be cell shaded style...
Iam not expert, iam only 14 but i have ideas and imagination. Just need someone to work.
When i finish school and go to high school it would be graphical. Il probavly work for some newspaper if i get good marks...

Re: Rearranging the pregame dialog
it is easier to make a dynamic GUI than to make 50 different ones, if you think otherwise you can get the code and make a patch

Re: Rearranging the pregame dialog
I dont agree...
There were trying to make it and they still dint completed,or maybe there were but probavly it crashes alot.
You first make the maximum hud/gui size and trought program you just make it smaller but with proper program it wouldt lose quality, maybe the quality of resizeing the picture would probavly make it a bit better then previous size...
Dont know, iam a newb.Iam now on Aspire 1300, Mobile AMD Althlon 1400 plus 400-1.2ghz(Automatic overlock if needed more procesor power),32mb S3 graphic card(Intergrated i think) and 352mb of ram & more, sometimes,it depends...I got a weird 7 year old laptop.I barely play Medal Of Honor Allied Assault Warchers(Mohaa plus both expansion pack).
But dont know why i cant see map textures,i play on 32mb and textures are blurry on buildings and units, probavly normal for 32mb setting, shadows and vertical refreshing off...
Well about my pc and problems with warzone and MOHAA with both expansion packs are out of this topic...
:/

Because that requires unnecessary effort, and makes the code harder to read and far harder to maintain.MetalWarrior95 wrote:Well there is an simple solution...

No, it's not.MetalWarrior95 wrote:I think that is harder to make dinamical hud/gui because the engine is outdated a bit and its hard to code option to dinamical hud.
Fortunate, then, that 2010 > 2002.MetalWarrior95 wrote:Dinamical hud started coding in 2002 because of monitors bigger then 1024x768.
Who is "they"? Us? We are looking for mockups (which is why the thread was in Gen Dev Artwork), not coding advice.MetalWarrior95 wrote:There were trying to make it and they still dint completed,or maybe there were but probavly it crashes alot.

I'm not understanding what the youtube video has to do with anything; however, after encountering your posts on multiple threads, I see that confusion seems to be the general reaction to most of them.

Re: One GUI for each resolution in Warzone
Dynamic HUD GUI is very essential for future enhanced resolutions. The scalability will remove the need to develop a new HUD GUI to fit every new resolution.
The developers have obviously seen the benefits of this feature before beginning to work on this. You shouldn't question their decision, they are working for the betterment of the game.
