Update the Ubuntu Linux Versions

It has been several days i switched to the Ubuntu Linux Os. and then i downloaded a copy of warzone in the software center. and the version i see in the screen is a weird number not the 2.3Betas is there anything possible if the Devs could update the Linux versions .thanks i could really appreciate it.

I thought linux users self-compiled the game, since all they ever offered was what is listed on the download page?

I think if you want the latest 2.3.beta# you will have to compile it from source

We do not decide which version of the game that Ubuntu distributes, and in the past they have distributed some weird versions based on very old trunk snapshots, which was really annoying. The most recent version of Ubuntu ships 2.2.4, though.

I have kubuntu(same sh*t) 9.04 - there is a 2.2 somekind seflcompiled version, whatever it is sucks.
I thought to make a deb pack, but its kinda difficult for me as I'm a newbie with linux.
