Different location starting in MP/SK games
I am very new to Warzone 2100, but I was wondering if it would be possible to make a map where you never start in the same place. Like if you made a map for 4 player then you would have to play it 4 times before you started in the same place

you can change the location you start in.
If you would like I can show you in a multi-player game, unless 2.3 broke my hosting capabilities.

You simply change bases manually by clicking on the number below your name and selecting a free one or if host moving any player where you want. Warzone won't do it randomly, in MP it is just what order you join but you can always change bases or ask for host to move you.

What you are directly proposing is already doable with host control. But having a "Random" starting position option would be better: If chosen, everyone who has this option selected will be assigned to a reandom position, but anyone can choose from the available starting positions. Host could be able to lock everyone at random to avoid trouble with that

That wouldn't be completely logical because it would usually just result in unbalanced teams it is easier just getting host to make teams and give suggestions on fair ones.

It is easier to cease development of the whole game than continuing to make things for free, for a community that's sometimes with stones ready at hand for when you make mistakes. It is easier to end one's own life than facing terrible problems, when you'll need to make blind decisions that you can't know the outcome of. Question is, what's better? That should be the first question to ask, after "is it even possible?". If we want to choose the easiest ways, we won't have progress, evolution, and in most cases, what seems to be better because it's easier turns out to bring no prosperity.
The whole thing is actually a judgement about the cost/benefit ratio. Easier than that is to not even think about it, but, as I daresay, it's the worst path. I believe that there's a good reason to have an option for random starting positions, it adds a nice effect and avoids people from knowing exactly what they'll have to do when the game starts, ahead of time. I believe that it's definetely worthy of thinkking about - from this stage I fear I can't help anymore, since I don't know a sh*t about coding or the game's code structure.
I am so terribly philosophical those last days, I fear that I'm frighteningly close to another depression. Forgive me if I take things far too deeply, I can't avoid it when expressing my opinion - if I were to be more shallow, I'd rather refrain from any expression at all.

Thank you Olrox, the random starting locations is kind of what I was thinking, just didn't quite know how to phrase it.
