Multi-Turret in 2.3 Betas

Post by carlIsBeastly »

In the 2.2 and earlier versions, even without multi-turret, you could go to body.txt and change allowed turrets for each frame. Does anyone know if this is still possible, and if so, how to get to it for the 2.3 betas?

AFAIK you can modify any body to be multi-turret. It's easier if you use flaTE to edit the .txt files.
I'm not sure because I didn't check the bodies for connectors, but if the PIEs have the needed connectors positioned (I believe there are, regardless of the body) there should be no problem.

I've made a multi-turret body from scratch and it worked, so the worst you'll have to do is go through a little modding :hmm:

Or ask someone else to do this little modding for you :wink:

I know how to do the modding, I've done it before, I'm just unsure where the files are. I am using the mac client, and the files were in resources/data/multiplay or campaign/ body.txt. I'm just not sure where the files are located now.

Well, I can't help you with MAC, never saw how the files are positioned. Did you try to search for "bodies.txt" in your warzone folder, anyway?

I did. Apparently there are no files of the ".txt" type in the warzone folder. If anyone can help with this, it would be very much appreciated.

The files that were in resources/data/multiplay/ are now in resources/data/mp.wz - rename the mp.wz file to a zip file, and extract it. Rename the extracted folder to multiplay, and you should be good to go.

kk to find them on mac look "inside" the warzone application.

1. hold down ctrl and click on warzone
2. select "view package contents"
3. dbl click contents -> resources -> data -> mp.wz
4. copy to desktop
5. rename to mp.zip, unzip it
6. voila!!

...erm... your way is exactly the same as my way, except with your way, editing those text files won't actually mod the game.

(Oh, and your way tells him to do something he already knows how to do.)
