warzone is slow
Hi, i dont know why, but warzone is slow on my computer. Problem started when i updated my windows xp to windows 7 ultimate. On windows xp it worked fine-no crashes and no speed problems. But now everything in menu is slow and starting a game takes several minutes or it just crashes. My brother has laptop with windows 7 too, but warzone works nice on his computer. What could be the problem and solution to it?
Thanks for all help.
Sorry my bad english!

Re: warzone is slow
Windows 7 makes better use of larger ammounts of RAM, it doesn't mean that it'll be faster than XP if you use it on a computer with, let's say, 1Gb Ram. This is just my guess using the trunk version crystal ballerlando wrote:Hi, i dont know why, but warzone is slow on my computer. Problem started when i updated my windows xp to windows 7 ultimate. If you post your specs and game version, we can pinpoint your problem

Re: warzone is slow
Other OpenGL games work without problems?
Maybe graphics drivers are crappy or something?

Install graphics drivers from your video card manufacturer's website.

Another thing to try is to turn OFF windows aero effects .FAQ wrote:Turn off compositing window managers (Compiz on Linux, Aero on Windows).
1. right click desktop
2. click personalize
3. scroll down and click the theme marked "windows classic" and apply it
4. try launching warzone

Re: warzone is slow
I hope we learned something from this.
If someone says "Warzone was fast, but the I upgraded/reinstalled my operating system and now it's slow," STOP ALL THE CONFLICTING INFORMATION.
There is only one piece of advice you need to give: Update the drivers.
All the other stuff you guys were saying was just useless and making him take longer to fix the problem.

Re: warzone is slow
Based on a number of years of watching people work through their OpenGL issues on a quite a few different platforms, this is demonstrably false.Zarel wrote:There is only one piece of advice you need to give: Update the drivers.
Certainly, it is one of the steps to take to resolve video problems, although sometimes rolling back to a previous driver version also helps.
Some combination of the following *usually* works:
* update drivers
* turn off compositing window managers & effects
* fiddle with display settings like hardware acceleration
The last resort is to buy a 'real' video card.

What I meant to say is that there's no need to throw a bunch of confusing advice out there unless "update your drivers", doesn't work.

Olrox, you did no wrong, the FAQ link you posted says to use new drivers as well.Olrox wrote:Ok. Thanks for the "useless". Very nice to hear that.Zarel wrote:What I meant to say is that there's no need to throw a bunch of confusing advice out there unless "update your drivers", doesn't work.
and it ends here.
