Three feature requests

Post by aidin36 »

Hi!

I used to play WZ2100 in old times, and I happy that it still alive. And I'm happier that It's a free software. I have some feature requests, which I think make the game play more enjoyable.

First, there's no way to add a selected group of units to an already exist group. (Or at least I didn't find a way) There can be a short-cut key, for example shift+n, which adds the selected units to group 'n'.

Second, there's an annoying behaviour about power generators. Assume that I have 2 power generators, and 6 oil derricks. While I building a module upon one of them, it temporary disable, and other one handle 4 of the power resources. The problem is, when module has been build, only 2 of the resources assign to it, and the old generator still handle the other 4. It get worse when I lose 2 of my oil derricks: the old generator still handle the 4 remaining resources, and the one with the module got nothing! What a waste of resources.

The last one: It will make game play more better, if you include the 'tech-tree' inside the game (when player wants to select a new technology to research) In this way, player can decide on what should she/he select as the next goal more easily. It's time to improve that old interface!

Thanks for spending your time reading this,

Press the group's number 'n', hold shift and mark the units you want to add, press ctrl-n.

I know that I can do this, but there can be easier ways for grouping units: You can select some units, and then decide to which group they should be add, without having to select the group first. Easier, and faster. This feature is included in most of the modern strategic games.

By the way, the two other features are more important than this one.

Ah yes the tech tree... something I wanted for a long time too b4 I was familiarized with the techs. And the power mods... wouldn't you just upgrade both anyway? But I see how it could be a potential pain for early game.

Especially since the power module is, you know, free.

Especially the Void between the ears of people who think that No VTOL is a good idea, and won't lead to arty wars. I've won one, and I have to say: I hated it.
