Yeah on low power maps they can be useful, but medium/high power or even if there's just quite a bit of oil about. Mortars are useless (thanks for the spelling correction). It's at least good if pepperpots are made a bit cheaper. They are waaay expensive atm.

bombard + HEAP is like, 600 power? Only the last HE mortar upgrade is really costing much. You can easily sink 600 power into 2 tanks at this stage in game.

Mortars used to (all?) have different ranges at some stage.
Full of ideas - Most are probably useless. Feel free to ignore them :)

That is only on highpower maps, which are obviously unbalanced due to 'infinite power'.

On low oil mortars are deadly if used properly. And there it's not that easy and fast to get Bombard and try not to fall behind in other areas.

I never play these maps with loads of oil in base.
