Occasionally when I scroll the minimap above a certain size(usually a little beyond the power bar) it gets stuck there as the minimum size. In other words it won't go back to it's original size. It'll get bigger and go back to the size it gets stuck as minimum. The only way I've found to get it back to it's original size is to restart the game from scratch.
Please don't say not to do this. I'm a functional quadriplegic, my fingers don't always do what I want.
This happens on both my computers. Desktop Vista Ultimate 32. Netbook Xp.
I could live with it but when trying to research tech in research building 5 if you happen to have units selected they'll take off for the point that's behind the research queue.
Thanks for any advice given.

Re: Minimap Resize
Are you sure it's not a problem with your scroll wheel or... condition? Have you tried using NUM- and NUM+?
I've taken a look through the code, and while it's badly written, I don't see anything that could cause that problem.

So we draw the research stuff above, but send clicks to the radar below? Guess we should change either drawing order or click destination then.drgnrdr wrote:I could live with it but when trying to research tech in research building 5 if you happen to have units selected they'll take off for the point that's behind the research queue.

Oh, yeah, that too. I'd say probably change click destination. Research panel should be on top, since it can be closed.cybersphinx wrote:So we draw the research stuff above, but send clicks to the radar below? Guess we should change either drawing order or click destination then.
By the way, what are you doing playing on 640x480? Increase resolution to your monitor's standard resolution...

Re: Minimap Resize
I guess I wasn't clear, I tried that and everything else I could think of. The only thing that works is to end the game completely and start over. This happens in both campaign and skirmish.Zarel wrote

That's the one thing I didn't think of. I don't like to mess with the game too much.Zarel wrote

Re: Minimap Resize
I managed to get the minimap back to original size by save/load a game. (Wouldn't be able to do in MP though)The only way I've found to get it back to it's original size is to restart the game from scratch.
Some tip: In a bigger resolution configuration, the map won't overlap with the research/build menu, at least on the new "min size"

Which you won't have to do in Beta 12, because I FIXED IT.Saberuneko wrote:I managed to get the minimap back to original size by save/load a game. (Wouldn't be able to do in MP though)

Re: Minimap Resize
Thanks for fixing the problem, Zarel.
I wasn't able to before so I haven't tried that since I upgraded my desktop completely. I was having problems with the save/load a game, so I wasn't using it much. I'm just now getting used to my new graphics card.I managed to get the minimap back to original size by save/load a game. (Wouldn't be able to do in MP though)"
You're right, I mess with the games options as little as possible. I've changed the resolution now. Thanks. I thought the problem should be addressed for those whose eyesight isn't what it should be. drgnrdrSome tip: In a bigger resolution configuration, the map won't overlap with the research/build menu, at least on the new "min size"
