As always outstanding work on that AI.

Concerning the turtle AI it would be nice if you could set up a tech tree that allows the AI to invent defensive systems and upgrades first.
Also it should secure everything much more than the standard AI already does. Instead of deploying offensive forces it should only build a propper quick reaction force that gets deployed whenever an AI structure is under attack.

The overall strategy of the turtle ai should be like this:
1. Build up propper base defense
2. Take oilfields and give them some really great defense systems. (2 to 3 times the standard AI) especially mortar etc. Every oilfield taken should basicly become a small Outpost with everything needed ;)
3. Invest in Tech upgrades
4. Priorize upgrades for defensive buildings and VTOLs ;)

Instead of Engaging the enemy directly aim for oilfields, in order to dry him out.

Why not make DyDo use Light/Medium VTOLs with Bunker Buster instead of HPV Cannon?

BB is largely effective against structures (Allowing hit & run attacks). Everytime when someone try to build AA Defense, HPV VTOLs take too much time to destroy these determined structure, at this time, they will be circling enough to be shot down.

Cyborg: Mini-Scourge Cyborg (what is what I was referring to last time I mentioned Scourge cyborgs)

Maybe:

I have released DyDo 2.0.8a which fixes a bug :gonk: on the event which controls the building of AA defenses...build x coordinate was set = to build y coord.

I am working on 2.0.9, when completed, I`ll work on 2.1 to include some suggestion of the to-do list.

Hi,

man the AI is soo cool, thanks mate.

How hard would it be to adapt this great AI to the NTW mod? The mod is really good, however the AI is sort of the weak spot?

I hope I don't offend anyone with this question, I just wonder if you could combine arms ?

Dydo is a great step forward for the game! Even though I will complain about some issues, I like this AI a lot and look forward to play newer versions.

I downloaded newest beta and played Dydo there. General 1, 2player map in Arizona. advanced bases

One tactic owns Dydo:
- start building cyborgs (10-20) and use them to protect nearby oil derrics, research minirockets + mortars and place mixed defense of heavymachinguns, minirockets and artillery as backup (artillery is not usually needed at that point) - dydo is not able to break this defence, sometimes I have to rebuild some cyborgs and thats all. In the last game 3 heavymachineguns towers, 6 minirockets and 4 mortars were enough to hold dydo for quite a long time (with cannon fodder cyborgs between the towers).
- have 5 research centers, top priority is to research technology that allows faster research (synaptic branch). As a consequence, I get very quickly nice economy boost (vapor tourbines etc) AND autorepair AND lasers.
- rest research goes to minirockets and artillery. Sometimes lancers.
- during the game I slowly expand, using howitzers/bombards as defence breakers and high number of cyborgs as a cannon fodder (some tanks between them with stronger weapons like lancers). Dydo does not have a way to destroy many weak cyborgs.

Things that Dydo does wrong:
- it does not recognize that my army is mostly cyborg and it builds against them minirockets
- I do not "research all" but have a quick research path that leads me to more advanced technology faster. Dydo is slow at research, because it still uses t1-t2 weaponry when I have t3 already
- it can not defend against artillery protected by some droids (it ries to counterattack, but my droids are enough to protect artillery)
- i did not see a single vtol during the game, don't know why :( It would be great if vtols attack my artillery
- dydo still sends trucks to death, when my artillery has oil in range and dydo wants to build derrick there

Good things:
- attack groups were larger
- some new templates were interesting
- it counterattacked when my artillery started attacking its base (failed, but tried!)
- base had better defence than in previous versions

It would be a really hard work to adopt the DyDo to NTW mod.

To be honest I have such a long to-do list for the current DyDo that I have no time to dedicate to develop a new modified one for NTW...also I am not an expert of NTW.

Fell free to adopt DyDo for NTW yourself (I assume you can play with the AI script).

Please help me to test DyDo 2.1 for Warzone 2100 2.3.beta12a.

This is really a test release and works with 2.3beta12 only, please test it and let me know of any bugs. In DyDo 2.1 there are 2 bug fixes, 2 new features and a lot of changes (re-balances).

DyDo 2.1 comes with challenges too! These are played on maps where DyDo is doing well.

Try CNCAssault-medium …and let me know.

I think someone had mentioned that artillery was hard to work into AI, but to counter this
- it can not defend against artillery protected by some droids (it ries to counterattack, but my droids are enough to protect artillery)
and to improve this
- it counterattacked when my artillery started attacking its base (failed, but tried!)

make use of, and strategicly build CB towers.

Why is it hard to use artillary in AIs?

I am not sure this is a crash related to DyDo 2.1 because DyDo 2.1 it is not on svn yet. I do not get any crashes by playing the 2.3beta12a with DyDo 2.1.

I will put DyDo 2.1 on svn after #1736 has been fixed.
