I have installed UBUNTU 9.10 on a PS3 and with a bit of juggling flex and bison compiled warzone 2100 2.3.beta11a
The results were less than pleasing it runs extremely slow making it almost impossible to play

I did a check and found the systems resourses used very low cpu% but the available memory was only 214.5MB strange amount but that was 100% USED so memory is a bit issue from what I can tell.

end result is it runs but poorly.

Playing strategy games with a simple playstation joypad is near impossible anyway. Why would you want to?

I've got Populous the beginning and Warzone 2100 on my PS1 and they're both really hard to play without keyboard and mouse to help.

Why not just play on your computer instead of trying to figure out some way to hack the game on to the ps3. Just download the file (http://sourceforge.net/projects/warzone2100/files/) and play. And take a look at the tech tree (http://guide.wz2100.net/) before you try if you haven't already. See you in game.

I was visiting my friend he has only one PC and if it was capable to run on PS3 we would war as often as possible.
I don't quite understand the reference to the tech tree being related to running warzone on PS3 But what ever.
The above report about running Ubuntu on PS3 was for information purposes only as it was not viable.
Other than that i will continue to look for new ways to run warzone on PS3 because its fun.

I only refereed to the tech tree because he said he played the original game by Pumpkin and a lot has changed so just saying if he hasn't looked at it, it will help greatly in becoming a worthy opponent. Always looking for more people to expand the MP community.
