Kudos to the team

The game can be run on an intel atom netbook at decent speed, just wanted to congratulate you guys for keeping the code fast enough to run on such low specs!

Next release (2.4 or 3.0 or whatever we end up calling it) won't be. :(

I've read that trunk is going to break some vid card support with the new OGL code, is it because of that or it's just that the system requirements will go up?

Yeah. We don't really enforce system requirements beyond just using features old video cards might not support.

Blame Intel. Their hardware has the ability to support OpenGL 2.0 (and in Linux, they do), but in Windows, they're apparently just too lazy to write drivers. :(

Oh well, after all it's a game and Intel's aim is to keep the platform image as a non-gaming machine.
Guess I'll store 2.3 in my netbook and play future ones on my desktop.

That said, the kudos stays for making it possible :)

Note that newer Intel gfx hardware plays trunk fine. At least X4500 and up work.

Well, in my case I'm "stuck" with an Intel GMA 945 which I guess won't work with newer versions.

Given that a €200 netbook was never intended to be used for gaming this fell more into the "pleasant surprise" category than anything else.
