Just now, in a T1, no base, low power game
EDIT: Sk-Startup (2P) (not Sk-Rush, lol, my bad)
I killed the enemy on the 7' 20" mark.
I had the factory and all trucks neutralized at 6' 40" .
What I did:
Well, we all know we don't have MG researched yet, therefore we need an HQ to design the tank once we research it,
a Research center to get the MG, and a Factory to build tanks.
Now it takes way too long to get a tank rush across the map, so...
I sent one truck straight to the enemy enclave and build a factory while the other truck set up the HQ and Research lab.
and in about 3 minutes I was building tanks, and the enemy was still building the first research lab, while I had reached the third MG upgrade.
Epic truck rush or what?

Using defensive structures as weapons can be a good strategy on early gameplay...
This is very well known by most experienced wz players.
Same can be applied with factories, but keep in mind that strategy will never work against an experienced player... You can fool the AI, but cannot fool a good player with that.

MG Tower actually researches after you could be building your Tanks,
also by making Tanks, your Trucks could be building more factories to help them flow out in numbers.
And the Tanks are mobile so once the area is clean, they can rush another area.

Building a few MG towers and building only tanks after (building a factory right outside enemy base) results in a win in just a shade over 6 mins. I assume you were playing with no scavengers? Try putting scavengers on and rushing the AI then...
Full of ideas - Most are probably useless. Feel free to ignore them

In the past, you could easily start building an MG tower, and have it completed, before you could build MG viper wheels.
On a map like startup, you have no need to move on to another area, just tower where they start, and you've won.
The tower-truck rush was too effective, so they made mg tower research require the command center.
Thus you cannot start researching it, until you can start production of mg vipers.
Tower rushes can still work, and by making towers, not tanks, your factories can make more trucks... so you can build even more factories and towers.
Given that 300 power worth of towers can defeat 600 power worth of mg viper wheels (Im just guessing here, but I think its right), and you get 50% power back from demolishing, trucks setting up and taking down towers is also mobile

Hmm... if you ask that question, then it seems like you are using the stable 2.2.4 version?
Get the last Beta, and look at the options on the skirmish menu, there are two buttons with a face on them, that is the option that enables/disables scavengers.

To turn on scavengers in 2.2.4, simply set "Game" to "Mayhem" instead of "Skirmish".
