i am using the portable version of warzone and there is no text on the menu or any where else. the links are still there but you can't see them. how do i fix this?

I suggest deleting all warzone files in the portableapps folder which I am suggesting you are useing and renistall the portable application. If it still happens report again and someone else may be more help.

We do not support this version of the game. (We have no idea what they are doing)

I suggest you try the version(s) that we offer, they can be made into a portable version rather easily.

Look in the showcase for "Warzone 2100 mod manager 3.5" there is a program there for running warzone on a portable drive.

Just make a directory called "config" (or whatever you want) and put it in the same location as where you installed warzone.

Then make a shortcut, and add --configdir .\config to the end of it, and when you run it, it will save all files into that directory.

example:

"D:\warzone2100_builds\Warzone 2100\warzone2100.exe" --configdir .\config --window

You just have to make sure that the directory "config" is created FIRST.

and yes, "config" could be anything like "my_saves" then the shortcut will look like:

"D:\warzone2100_builds\Warzone 2100\warzone2100.exe" --configdir .\my_saves --window

See, easy.

I tried the latest stable version and there is still no text on the menu.
edit: i just tried it on my other computer and the text was there.

Erm.. use 2.3 beta 11a.

2.2.4 is too old.

As for the S3 /Via chipset, that sounds like video driver problems. Try going to their site, and hunt for newer drivers.

I don't see your point. If the drive letter changes, then of course the shortcut don't work, and you couldn't start the game with any shortcut either...

I got it working. but when i try to use the mod manager this comes up after i select the game .exe and the config file.

The most likely cause is not being able to read a file, not sure which one, most likely the warzone config or config.ini
As far as read errors go the code isnt very robust.
I'll fix it.

After a thorough examination of the code I have come to he conclusion that the error is in ether the loading code for one of the files or in the mod manager config file. To figure out precisely where I need you to run the attached special version, then post "WZMMLog.txt" and "Config.ini", Thanks.
