Crash to desktop after 5 minutes, linux

Hey hey,
I have been playing warzone 2100 on and off for a couple years. Recently a friend and I have been trying to play online together. So we decided to break out the old favorite of both of ours, Warzone. I downloaded the latest stable version, 2.2.4. I am running ubuntu 8.10. The problem I have with warzone is that 5 minutes into a skirmish game, the game crashes to the desktop. It happens everytime no matter what map I play.

Has this problem come up before? I looked around for a couple days to see if I could find a similar problem but I could not. I believe the game created an error file or something of that nature. Should I attach that file to this post?

Try beta11 instead, see if that fixes your problem.
