Angled VTOLs...

This can happen when a vtol goes from water to a cliff face, though it should have reset when it landed. :-S

Anyways, this has been fixed in trunk and so it shouldn't be difficult to fix in 2.3 as well.

Nope, I just confirmed it ( Sandcastles is a decent map to test with.)

Cool. I remember some problems with your fix mentioned on either the forum, tracker, or IRC, though... it was too long ago, so I don't remember the details... I think it may have been performance problems? Or graphical glitches... one of the two. It may also have been caused by Cyp's VTOL tilt changes, too...

I don't know. I'd probably advocate backporting your fix.
