Hi, I'm using the 2.3 beta 10 version on ubuntu linux 9.10 and i get this error while playing in multiplayer mode:

I can't uninstall pulse and i have openal already to the latest version: 1:1.8.466-2.
Could i disable sound within the game? should it solve the problem? is there any repository to get a newer version of openal?

Yes, use --nosound

Note that openal and openal-soft are two different thingsi have openal already to the latest version: 1:1.8.466-2.
