I hope these make it in for beta 10, they look great!Zerovirus wrote:I scoff at your anti aliasing, being a pure pixelartist or whatever![]()
It's best that you should know right now, I do everything on the horribly archaic MS Paint. Really, it can do everything GIMP or PS can, and any bonuses that I might be getting from either of the two in pixeling terms are negated by my familiarity with MS Paint. You should probably wait until we have a set done before you antialiase, because every time I do an edit and save you have to re-antialiase. Sorry. [/horriblyillogicalselfjustification]
I haven't been touching your stuff because, mostly, they're pretty darn good edits. Also, Olrox was initially right- I did put quite a bit of blue tinting into the green pallete, which I could take out and rebalance into a more yellowish green if necessary.
I like contrast, but I suppose you're right on that matter. I'll remember less contrast with the next few.
Any ideas for the moveattack? If not, I'm going to just skip over that for now in favor of better prey. Maybe the demolish structure- I'm not sure whether to keep the current wrecking ball or to make a whole new symbol.

I thought you didn't want us to have any more new features in the betas? Make up your mind.crux wrote:I hope these make it in for beta 10, they look great!

last I looked, replacing textures can't break the game, so this isn't a new feature it is a improved textureZarel wrote:I thought you didn't want us to have any more new features in the betas? Make up your mind.crux wrote:I hope these make it in for beta 10, they look great!

Sure isn't a bugfix, though. You did say we should focus on those.crux wrote:last I looked, replacing textures can't break the game, so this isn't a new feature it is a improved texture

hey
very cool ideas
hmm, i encourage you to use a vector graphics editor like http://inkscape.org/ or adobe illustrator.
I've already remade many user interface icons from pixel to vector graphics using inkscape. http://developer.wz2100.net/browser/tru ... ase/images

Yeeeahh.
I kinda died didn't I? Sorry. I've not been spriting much lately, and kinda ended up focusing on other stuff for a bit.
I'm workin on the dullbozer now. Also, I do have inkscape. Don't really know how to use it yet but sure I have it.
Maybe an update within the next week if I can finish that DAMN FISH ANIMATION. I hate fish.

Heh, no worries. I didn't prod you at all because I didn't want to rush you - the Wesnoth stuff is probably more urgent.
On second thought, let's work on those cursors first. Who cares about fish?

I had fish today again. My parents went fishing. And I finished one of the fish projects. Upon which time Zarel kindly reminded me in IRC that I still had the cursors, resulting in my cranial hemmorhage of

I forgot about el cursors... Ugh. Oh well. Here's a bulldozer update.

Ok, seriously now,
The bulldozer looks nice, good work. I still don't like the attack-move, though - still curious about how it'd look with my idea
But it's great to see your art again, I think it'll be really nice to see those improved cursors in-game! Nicely done.

What if the arrows in attack-move where yellow, keeping the circle red as it is...?
Maybe that would give the "tactical move and attack if needed, expect no fluffy-green stuff when going here"
GIMP lags way too much on my iMac here, but I'll try it when I get home.

Interesting designs over at the split thread.
At Zarel's repeated poking request once more I revive this thread. I'm too lazy...
Zarel, feel free to poke me again if I try to shirk this in the near future.
