Now THAT's a Techtree!
It's BIG, in glorious black and white:

In a next version I'll add shapes for different types of tech.
Interesting note: There are some redundant correlations in the stats, like the Hurricane AA Turret -> Cyclone Flak Turret dependency.

Re: Now THAT's a Techtree!
I warned you
I've added a few shapes for some types:
Cyborgs: ellipse
Defense: octagon
Weapons: hexagon
Now it's 9216x4647

Re: Now THAT's a Techtree!
Maybe you would place the first one you made (not from the mp directory) somewhere as well, since I believe that is the only tech that's used in campaign mode.

A3 or A2 might be large enough
Giel,
from data/stats/research/cam1:
http://pkedu.fbt.wur.nl/~hylke/data/techTreecam1.png
from data/stats/research/cam2:
http://pkedu.fbt.wur.nl/~hylke/data/techTreecam2.png
from data/stats/research/cam3:
http://pkedu.fbt.wur.nl/~hylke/data/techTreecam3.png
There's again several redundant relations in all of those.
Does anyone know what the stats in data/stats/research/multiplayer are used for?

Re: Now THAT's a Techtree!
I added some more shapes (trapezium for VTOL stuff, double-box for research upgrades)
And it can now change the edge-style.
Attached is the python script I made to generate the graphvis DOT files.

download it and open it with a gfx program....
"to prepare for disaster is to invite it, to not prepare for disaster is a fools choice" -me (kim-lav_coyote25-metcalfe) - it used to be attributed to unknown - but adding the last bit , it now makes sense.

almost certainly not as long as you're thinking -- noid created a script to generate the tech trees.Kacen wrote: Okay, done. And my god Noid, how long did it take you to make all this?!

Just a couple of hours to learn how graphviz works and to learn python. Both of wich I planned on doing anyway so this was just a nice "first project"
