Re: Coop Singleplayer
hmmm, but, having two commanders though, looking in two different places, can bring about some points of an impenetrable strategy, not sure where it fits, but places you need to be at two different points at once, having two commanders though, will reduce the worry + game play = More tactical fun ^_^

Re: Coop Singleplayer
If it's a Co-op it isn't singleplayer anymore. It would be more adequate to call that a Co-op campaign, but would require a campaign where you at least have AI allies, then another player could occasionally take its place.
That makes us need willing people to make a ton of maps and guys who are good at scripting and modding.
The idea IS good, but might need some more thiking, IMO

"I feel like post sniping, but tend not to"
I see where your getting at, BUT, i was thinking along the lines, when you head into "Campaign" you would be in a waiting room, like when you make a Multiplayer lobby, of some sort, where its just you, from there, you can set the difficulty level, and choose the 5 color flags, and when your ready "only you" just check the box, and your in a single campaign, however, going back to lobby, you can wait for a secondary player to join, then it automatically becomes a Co-op game...

If I recall correctly, that is how Halo Wars Co-op works over Xbox Live, correct? Or is it that you go into the lobby and wait for someone else?
Either way, I think that DRUsad's Idea is good.

@
) and a copy of Halo Wars, me and me bro used to play over net work, it was pritty fun i must admit, would bring the same feeling back if it worked for WarZone 2100 too
Yep, that's how it works I do own an Xbox 360 (Mind i would so buy it IF WarZone 2100 was available in the Download able section of Xbox LiveAssault Gunner wrote:If I recall correctly, that is how Halo Wars Co-op works over Xbox Live, correct? Right, this is what i was wondering about, "Halo Wars" and "C&C RA 3" both utilize in Co-op game play, BUT, "Halo Wars" focuses on Two different play roles, rather than 1 like "C&C RA 3" - "RA 3", when played in a single campaign, already has a Team AI, so basically, it always becomes a Co-op game, untill you ask some one to join and take over the AI... however, Halo Wars, you can play on your own, with out a Human/Computer Team Member, but has a wating lobby, so you can set, before you either play on your own, or team up with a friend... No AI RequiredOliveira wrote:Like in Red Alert 3 or Halo Wars

Problem is, how the game won't be too easy with 2 players instead of one? Wouldn't there be too few oil for two instead of one? Where another player could build his base? Remember that warzone maps are small in relation to other RTS.DraLUSAD wrote:however, Halo Wars, you can play on your own, with out a Human/Computer Team Member, but has a wating lobby, so you can set, before you either play on your own, or team up with a friend... For this feature to be good, all the maps should be made with this possibility in mind, otherwise there will be problems.

He's saying that both players have control of the same units, and function as a single player. Therefore, they have identical power resources, techs, etc. In other words, the second player merely has tactical command. He can do anything except construct base buildings, and research. He can, however, build base defenses, command units, and build derricks.
Translation:
1P takes care of the base
2P takes care of the units
However, both players can command units, allowing for "Hammer and Anvil" tactics.

Re: Coop Singleplayer
That could cause problems due to the players trying to command the same units or trying to build things on the same place. And it is questionable if the player that's taking care of the base wouldn't get bored too often.Assault Gunner wrote:He's saying that both players have control of the same units, and function as a single player. Thats where "Sharing Oil comes into play, and besides, the maps are small, but, as the levels progress, they get bigger, as players 1 and 2 shares the structures, dosnt mean both players need a factory each "Grean Factory" allowing Blue Team, to selected it, and Produce there units at "Green Factory", Both teams can use one factory (For now) and share the oil resorceOlrox wrote: Problem is, how the game won't be too easy with 2 players instead of one? ...I suppose the simple way would just to make a different campaign for multiplayer.

Re: Coop Singleplayer
What takes us back to the need of assembling a good team to make that. Good map makers and guys who are definetely good at coding would be needed - it wouldn't be an easy task. But the result surely would be awesomeZarel wrote:...I suppose the simple way would just to make a different campaign for multiplayer.

Re: Coop Singleplayer
also would be nice to have multiplayer game types like in the StarCraft BW. my favorite is the "co-op in one team" - 2 players control at one base. (both have the same color)
In early game:
Player 1 - manage a base or building expansions
Player 2 - defense or scouting
In middle and late game:
Player 1 - attacks from one flank
Player 2 - attacks from another flank or diversion from the rear side or control the air units

Yeah... Brood War is awesome, except I can't get the MP to work on my copy. Oh, well. SC original is just as fun.

Re: Coop Singleplayer
I think devs should add a new MP mode called "Co-op" or old one that was removed some time ago "Campaign"(in starcraft its called scenario maps)
this mode should use other map format (example: *.wzs (wz script)), so in this map would be a set of maps linked with one story line. They should support "jumping" through maps for each player. Also wzs maps should set teams by its own, do players could change only positions.(and also some BOTs can't be turned off, and be only on specific positions)
there are All lnd files for CAMs somewhere so, its just need to be a little redone for coop
IMHO too much works here, to archive a good result.
