Game Troubles

Post by eridor0 »

Alright, I have a problem. I downloaded both the 2.2.4 version and that 2.3 beta 9 versions of the game. In the 2.2.4 version I was able to make it through the intro cinematic before anything happened. But afterwards, during the loading for the first mission, I have a problem. It appears to be loading just fine, the bar at the bottom has those lines moving, and the music is playing. But if I click the mouse, it freezes and my cursor does that loading animation. I click again and my computer says the game isn't responding. I went over to the new 2.3 beta 9 version. In that one I can't even play the opening cinematic, as soon as I start a new game, the problem described above happens. Anyone know what's happening?

My OS is Windows 7, if that makes a difference.

Have you tried installing the latest version of the drivers for your graphics card?

Alright, I can do that, but I'm woefully lacking in technical knowledge. Where would I go to get the latest drivers?

http://www.nvidia.com or http://www.ati.com or http://www.amd.com... it depends on who made your video chipset. I am betting http://www.intel.com.
and it ends here.

Well, first you figure out what graphics card you have (Assuming you have Vista or later, it'll show up on the details view of the Windows Experience Index screen), and then you go to its manufacturer's website and look for drivers.

That worked. Thanks everyone, you have no idea how much I've wanted to play this.
