I had a look at it and it is all faster, but I hate it, it feels diffrent than this one. But I'll get used to it.

Over Write existing Defenses

Post by DraLUSAD »

ok, we all know that when you build a box around your derrick, oil well, or what not, with Concrete wall, you can over write the four points to add defenses, now, what wastes time is, when newer/better turrets become available, you have to demolish the turrets just so you can add better ones, is it possible, to added/build the better turrets over the existing old ones, with out the hassle of demolish/rebuild the turrets, it would save alot of time, and able to get around building them turrets better! :D

It has been suggested many times before and is accepted by most of people.
But there are problems of accidental overwriting.

You don't have time for being careful while you are tring to win...
This is war game, not "who-will-make-nicest-base" competition...

Well…one point of removing your defensive structures is to gain back some cash you spent on building it. I’m not sure if overriding a wall space will sell it automatically, then build a tower. But if it does, then I don’t see anything wrong with replacing some normal mortars with pepperpots.

I like to make my bases all pretty and frilly, and I even enjoyed making shapes out of my walls, and making a dream caste for a perfect princes, yay! Please…just…no. thats what i'm seeing here in this thread.

hahaha, good humor.... but the point is, some people might not mind losing power when it comes to "Upgrading" newer defenses in replace of the old, i certainty don't mind

Heh, I'm struggling to laugh at people who say simply "no" to other's suggestions.
Perhaps an ophthalmologist could solve your problem with not seeing the practicity of the suggested idea.

I think that the ability of building updated defenses over obsolete ones would really save precious time. But simply allowing that at any given time and condition wouldn't be good, could cause accidental things - perhaps holding down alt+placing the new structure could automatically order trucks to demolish tho old one and start building the new one?

Because when you have Assault Guns, you won't have any real use for standard MG towers, and replacing them quickly would be good.

Less base micromanagement, more concentration on tactics and multiple group controlling. Heightens commanding efficiency.

I can edit an put large fonts if you can't see anything else in this thread, ClockWork ;)

so would the base defense over-write code, would that work, the same way as you would place a corner defense when defending a oil derrik?

I suggested the same thing here:
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=4632

And there was a support for that idea...

maybe, the more people think of the idea, the more chance it might be but into an affect, who knows, it may already be in programming as we speak "Or not"
