Multiplayer on a LAN - questions

Post by Doomspark »

I have read the multiplayer section of the FAQ, and have not found a definitive answer to my questions.

Warzone 2.2.4 and 2.3 beta 8 (two different directories).

When I click on the button to begin hosting a game, I get a message that the game can't connect to the Lobby. It asks me to check TCP on port 9990. This happens in both versions of the game. I could care less about Internet games. I want to host multiplayer on my local LAN. Given this, do I still need to futz with my router's ports? If so, exactly which port or ports do I open, and in which direction?

I ask this, because there are references to port 2100 here, but the game says 9990.

If you're hosting on a LAN, simply ignore all error messages relating to connecting to the lobby, and you should be fine.

The game itself runs on port 2100; port 9990 is simply for connecting to the lobby.

Thank you - I appreciate the quick response. Would it be possible to change the in-game message to make that a little more clear?

Yes, I suppose I can do that.
