Re: warzone freezes
I too have a freezing problem. I had music turned way down, but not turned off entirely. So it may also be related to the the music changing.
Basically the game will stutter a few times at different intervals seemingly unrelated to anything going on combat-wise.
Next time I host a multiplayer game I will try turning off music. Though I'll be damned if I know how. config gives volume options for music, and the option to disable sound entirely, but not the option to only disable music. Unless turning cdvol down to 0 actually disables it and doesn't simply mute it.
I suppose I'll go track down the music files and remove them. Hopefully the game doesn't freak out when it finds no music.
EDIT: Okay nevermind. The system tracks down a play list and rolls with that. The system is not pleased when you delete all the entries from the playlist. Hrm. I wonder if simply deleting one entry and forcing it to repeat the same song over and over will solve the issue. Unfortunately, testing this one is difficult. Convincing people to play a game simply to test that theory is difficult at best.
Especially when the previous three games have crashed just as things were getting good.

Move the slider for the music all the way to the left.
It shouldn't freeze, no idea what is going on with that. I left the game play itself for a hour or so, and it was ok.

and it ends here.

Yes, turning any volume control down to 0 will disable that sound system.GunFox wrote:Next time I host a multiplayer game I will try turning off music. Re: warzone freezes
(I'm new to all this gaming stuff.) I have 2.2.4 on a new Imac and I have the music slider all the way to the left but mine still freezes a lot too. Sometimes it'll go for hours and hours with no problem and sometimes it'll freeze after 5 minutes. I just save the game a lot. Sometimes it crashes too which has the added inconvenience of really messing up my desktop. I also don't have any of the ground textures that I see in pictures on the web.
I could use some mission help too if it's available on this board?

How new is your iMac? The texture problem can be fixed by upgrading to Snow Leopard. I believe your other problems will be fixed, too.ironsights wrote:(I'm new to all this gaming stuff.) I have zero problems and I'm on 10.5.8. Strange that you would have any issues, because I have none. Maybe it's my graphics firmware... Ah, well. My OpenGL works just fine. And I had no bugs at all in the latest stable version.

Especially the Void between the ears of people who think that No VTOL is a good idea, and won't lead to arty wars. I've won one, and I have to say: I hated it.

It's probably your graphics card. I forgot to mention the OpenGL issue is specific to Nvidia Macs with 10.5.Assault Gunner wrote:I have zero problems and I'm on 10.5.8.
