Music question.

Post by Ceiling Cat »

I found a track that I clearly remember from when I played long ago on PSX that isn't in any of the modern versions. Could anyone explain why, and would it be possible to extract it from the original game and include, if copyright allows?

They need to add this music track in. It is an essential musical and aural element. Maybe in the later releases. I have an ogg of it if that helps.

First we need the copyright info for the Playstation version, to decide if we can include it, and if we do, a lossless copy of the track (wav/flac/ape).

I think we've already concluded that the PlayStation version is GPL...

Anything more specific than "I think"? I don't remember that.

Well, each time the topic comes up, we conclude it's okay. Last time was on IRC, we reread the GPL release readme, and the "as well as the not included videos and music" seemed to be enough to include the videos and music for the PlayStation version (and pabs agreed with me on that point).

use a txt editor like notepad++ open the .wpl file and inside you will see

track1.ogg
track2.ogg

in the music folder there is

menu.ogg
track1.ogg
track2.ogg

I completely agree that the music from the PS version should be added. It's my favourite track in Warzone 2100.

I Have added that track to Warzone. I did it by searching for Warzone music then found it in a mp4 format. I then used a converter to make it into an ogg file. Lastly I placed the file in the music folder then added the entry in to playlist using Wordpad.
