Trunk code exhibits screwy research and resources...

I have experienced, on several occasions, the following behavior when playing a skirmish game.

After loading a saved game, research times drop drastically. When watching the progress bar, everything seems normal initially, then abruptly the game announces that research is complete. It doesn't seem to matter how many research stations are active at the time.

While undeniably useful, this has always felt like cheating.

Additionally, the resource bar at the bottom of the screen starts to gallop upwards, regardless of research, building or other operations in progress.

I do have a debug file of such a game, in zipped and unzipped formats, but unfortunately the board is stating that "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." If anyone wants the debug file, please PM me with an email address, and I'll pass it on.

Incidentally, I have not seen this behavior in campaign mode.

I noticed this behaviour, too, but posted it in another Forum. The energy will increase with finished research by 1k to 5k(I think that this depends on the power level?)
Also, Commanders have a weird bug: Once one reaches Professional Status, you cannot assign the full possible amount of units to it. E.g. if you could assign 16 units to a commander, you can only assign 14 to it. So always -2.

This research bug is already in the bug tracker. I do not know how to fix it, waiting for gerard_ to resurface.

I don't know if this is related.
I built the trunk version on ubuntu and I noticed that research and structures did not display the green progress bar (being paid for) they just went to the yellow bar and as it rose the structure was being built (enlarging), it did seem that the power needed was being consumed so it was being paid for as it was constructed. Same with research it went straight to the yellow bar.
Bug or feature I don't know but it made it hard to work out what was paid for and what wasn't.

It's a feature, the energy for the research topic or building is drained as it completes, not beforehand like it was originally.
