False positive on virus detector?
Hello. I recently found this awesome looking game. However when I downloaded the installer for version 2.2.4, my antivirus found somehting. Specifically, something named 3.nsis, which was detectrd as generic!bg.bxq, a Trojan. Is this a false positive? And if so, what is causing it?
Searching the forum, I saw there was a similar problem recently with the 2.3 beta 1. Is this the same thing?

Re: False positive on virus detector?
I use McAfee VirusScan. Mind you, this was found in the installer, not the program itself once it was installed. I'll try and find out how to send them a question about this when I'm not quite so tired.

Thanks for the reassurance.
Admittedly, I missed the question in it on the Faq the first time I skimmed through it. But still, good to hear about it from the source you know.

Re: False positive on virus detector?
Pardon the double post, but something else came up. I went ahead and installed the program, but the antivirus balked again, and deleted something mid-install, claiming it was the same virus. An error message came up saying that the movies couldn't be installed, failure to download or something like that. I'm afraid I didn't catch the specific error. After it was all said and done, the warzone program could run, sans movies. Is there any way I can repair this, or do I just have to shut down McAfee and reinstall?

As long as you downloaded it from our download page instead of any third party website. You can be pretty sure that it is a false positive.

You can download and install the videos manually. Just follow the instructions on the download page.Fortis wrote:Pardon the double post, but something else came up. Re: False positive on virus detector?
Thanks for the help. And here's the information I could find.
Version 8.5.0i
Scan engine version (32-bit): 5400.1158
Dat version: 5829.000
The virus found when scanning (With the On-Demand scan) the installer was:
Name: 3.nsis
Detected As: generic!bg.bxq
Detection Type: Trojan
When Running the installer:
I chose to install all the default components. After I clicked install, the On Access Scan came up, saying that it detected the same virus in the StartMenu.dll. And automatically deleted it. Also, not long after this window came up, Warzone installer also threw up an error message stating "Download of videos failed: connecting to host".
Is that everyting you need?
