Am on wz2.2.4 now but in Mint8.
In multiplayer mode, I get an error when I click the "start hosting game" button.
Says I'm joining the game, then
System message:
Game unreachable, failed to open a connection to: [174.124.76.172]:2100
In the console says:
error |03:44:46: [readLobbyResponse] Lobby error (406): Game unreachable, failed to open a connection to: [174.124.76.172]:2100
I have firewall set to allow everything.
Also had this problem in 2.2.2. Went to 2.2.4 hoping to get past it.
Why is WZ trying to connect to lobby when I want IP?

By the way, if I select multiplayer, then IP... it also takes me to the lobby.

Hmm? What do you mean, you hit the IP 'button' then you get a dialog where you enter the IP. Then you type it, and you see the game. Then you select the game.aharown07 wrote:By the way, if I select multiplayer, then IP... it also takes me to the lobby.

Erm, 174.124.76.172 isn't the lobby... I assume that is the game you wanted to join?
and it ends here.

Re: Why is WZ trying to connect to lobby when I want IP?
Actually I'm not trying to join, I'm to host.
I just threw in the IP detail to make things more confusing.
Actually, I was trying to show that something is messed up in my config or something. No idea why it's behaving this way. As you pointed out, it's not supposed to do that... and doesn't on my other PCs.
So, interested in clues as to what I might have broken.

No, when hosting, you always try to contact lobby. Players will be able to connect through either the lobby or through IP. If you have no connection to lobby, players will still be able to connect using IP. If you have a connection to the lobby but want a game that cannot be seen from the lobby, replace "lobby.wz2100.net" with "localhost" in your config file.
